The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 5-3 in Game 1 of the NLDS at Dodger Stadium on Oct. 3, taking the series opener after a week of rest following a 100-win regular season. Teoscar Hernandez, Kyle Tucker and Max Muncy each homered to power the offense, while the Dodgers' starting pitcher worked six strong innings to limit Atlanta despite triple-digit on-field heat. The game took 2 hours and 44 minutes in front of 50,194 fans.
The win extended the Dodgers' home-field advantage into the series and fit expectations for a club that finished with one of the best records in baseball, then used its first-round bye to rest key players before the division series began.
The community was unanimous in predicting this outcome, with 100% expecting the Dodgers to win Game 1, reflecting the wide gap between the two clubs after Los Angeles' dominant regular season and the extra rest afforded by its bye.
