Scottie Scheffler failed to shoot every round under par at the 2026 BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club, a par-70, no-cut course. Scheffler said afterward that he was feeling sick, speaking with a hoarse voice and declining his usual post-round media session; reporting described the stumble as his highest opening score since the U.S. Open in June. He rebounded in the following rounds, shooting a bogey-free 5-under 65 in Round 2 and a 2-under 68 in Round 3, both under par, but the Round 1 total meant the "every round under par" outcome had already failed on the tournament's first day. After three rounds he sat well outside the lead, several shots behind pace-setter Wyndham Clark, just days after winning the preceding FedEx St. Jude Championship.
