54% of users predicted NO โ the community missed this one. 44 predictions cast.
All 10 of the world's highest-ranked national teams advanced out of the group stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, resolving this question in the affirmative. Pre-tournament FIFA rankings placed Spain at No. 1 and Germany at No. 10, with France, Brazil, England, Argentina, Portugal, and the Netherlands among the top-ranked sides in between. Each navigated their respective groups successfully across the tournament's 12 pools of four teams. France, Argentina, and Mexico were among the three teams that went undefeated in the group stage, winning all three of their matches. Argentina, led by Lionel Messi โ who set a new all-time World Cup scoring record during the group stage โ advanced from their group without a loss. Spain maintained their tournament composure, and Germany closed out their group with a perfect record. The expanded 48-team format, which sends 32 teams to the Round of 32 (including the eight best third-place finishers), provided an added safety net that reduced the probability of elite sides being caught in a difficult three-way tiebreaker scenario. The Predict Six community was divided on this question: 46% predicted all top-10 teams would advance and 54% predicted at least one would fall. The majority called it wrong โ every top-10 ranked side made the Round of 32.
