The Senate did not vote on the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act during the week of July 27-31, 2026. The chamber had no floor votes scheduled on the bill that week, as negotiations continued over a disputed ethics provision that would bar the president, vice president, members of Congress, federal judges and their spouses from issuing or sponsoring digital assets for compensation while in office.

Republicans had floated a compromise giving President Trump roughly a year to divest crypto holdings or place them in a blind trust, enforced by the Justice Department, but Democrats said the restrictions did not go far enough to prevent conflicts of interest. Without Democratic support, GOP leadership held off scheduling a floor vote, with consideration instead pushed toward the following week.

The delay followed weeks of on-again, off-again momentum for the bill, which supporters had billed as the most consequential piece of crypto market-structure legislation to reach the Senate floor.

The Predict Six community correctly anticipated the delay, with just 3% of voters predicting a vote would happen that week, reflecting wide recognition that the ethics dispute remained unresolved and Democratic support was not forthcoming.
