The detailed version
Plain-English specifics on what we collect, what we don't, where your data lives, and what you can do about it. If anything here surprises you, email us — we'll explain or fix it.
What we collect
Required to run the app
- An account created when you sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or email + password. Sign-in is required so your progress stays with you across devices.
- The email address tied to your sign-in method. We use it only for sign-in — never for marketing, sharing, or anything else. With Sign in with Apple, this is Apple's private-relay address by default.
- Your display name — chosen by you, defaults to "User," editable any time. Visible to fellow members of any group you join.
- Your daily yes/no predictions, and whether each was correct after the question resolves.
- Your streak, points, accuracy, and other gameplay stats — computed server-side from your predictions.
- Your timezone — needed to compute day boundaries (streaks, daily-set membership, scheduled notifications) in your local time.
Optional — only if you opt in
- Push notification token — only if you grant notification permission, so we can send you the reminders or results you opted into.
- Group memberships — only if you create or join a group. Surfaces your display name and public stats to that group's members.
- Anonymous crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) — device model, OS version, and stack traces from crashes. No personally-identifying content.
What we do with it
- Run the app: serve your daily questions, save your answers, score them after resolution, compute your streak / points / accuracy.
- Show your performance to you, and to fellow members of any group you join.
- Send you the push notifications you opted into (daily reminder, results, group nudges).
- Compute anonymous community consensus ("66% of predictors picked Yes…") — never tied to any individual user.
- Diagnose crashes and improve the app via aggregated, anonymous Firebase Crashlytics reports.
- That's it. We don't run ads, sell data, or build profiles for marketing.
What we don't collect
- Your location — never. Not even coarse / city-level.
- Your contact book or address book.
- Your calendar, photos, or camera roll.
- Your health, fitness, or activity data.
- Your browsing history outside the app.
- Your real name — unless you type it as your display name, which is your choice.
- Your phone number, mailing address, or birthdate.
- Any payment or financial information. The app is free.
- Any data about other apps you use, or any cross-app tracking identifiers.
Where your data lives
- All production data lives in Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics) in Google Cloud's US region.
- Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) on every connection.
- Encrypted at rest with Google-managed keys.
- No secondary replication to any other cloud, marketing platform, or our own machines.
- Our private GitHub repo holds the app's source code, never user data.
Sharing with third parties
- We share with Google Firebase — required to host the app.
- We share with Apple — the bare minimum required for App Store delivery, and (if you sign in with Apple) Sign in with Apple.
- We share with Google — only if you sign in with Google. Just the OAuth handshake; Google does not see any of your activity inside the app.
- We share with Facebook — only if you sign in with Facebook. Same scope as Google: OAuth only, no activity data.
- We don't share with advertisers. We don't run ads.
- We don't share with analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment, etc.). We don't use any.
- We don't share with data brokers, ever.
- If law enforcement requests data with a valid legal process, we'd comply. We've never received such a request.
Your rights
- Delete your account anytime: Profile → Delete Account in the app. Every document tied to your account is removed immediately, and the underlying Firebase user is purged within 30 days. Irreversible.
- Export your data: email info@predictsixapp.com from the address you signed up with (or describe your account) and we'll send you a JSON export of everything tied to your account.
- Opt out of any push notification anytime in Settings.
- Leave any group anytime — your past predictions stay in your account, but they're no longer visible to that group.
- Edit your display name any time. Nothing else about you is broadcast.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change anything material, we'll notify you in the app before the change takes effect — not buried in fine print. The summary view's "Last updated" date will move forward at the same time.
